No, but it's definitely nice for couples, and many people look for them when buying a home. I guess it depends on the size of the sinks -- regarding how much space they take up. I think an 8' vanity should be plenty big for two typical size sinks.

I agree with kdeley. Ours is also about 6 ft with 2 sinks. We did corian so we could have integrated sinks which was something I really wanted in the bathroom.

The sinks aren't huge - but they're more than sufficient and so is the available counterspace. And we do find that we're both in the bathroom using both sinks at the same time.

Our vanity is 7' and we did a small trough sink with two faucets. I think we would have had room for two sinks but I like the look of the one with two faucets - and it works well for us. Good luck!

One thought that just occurred to me - we had the cabinets under both sides of the vanity wired. Anything that needs to sit in a charger can be hidden under there out of sight. It's made a big difference for us in keeping the top of the counter open and uncluttered.

Thanks for your comments. I forgot to put that I want to add a vanity area and it has to be dropped so it is at a 30" height. I think I am going with what I need and that is one sink since my husband does not use that bathroom very much. If I resale anytime soon (which is not planned at this time), I will just have to give an allowance.

We are doing the same thing you are doing. Two sinks are nice, but a vanity is nicer!

Yes. I like having the vanity space so that I have room for all my STUFF plus room for decorative items.

No of course not. But at least try to find a wide rectangular sink. I just worked on a master bath where it just wasn't possible. Many couples leave at different times of the morning these days. Good luck!
