the lamps aren't bad, change the shades. add some accent pillows, the head board could use, trim or maybe silver furniture nail tack head around the edge.blue would be a good pop color. soft yellow, light green, light blue. for curtains maybe. perhaps painting the end tables would bring some spark. keep the burlap and add some panels to the outside, from the bed spread. how would you feel about painting the room? addding some black or espresso will bring elegance.
