Lady Lavender Problems.

Up till now, my plant has been fine. I've been growing a lady lavender plant indoors in a well lit area, without watering daily (usually every 5-6 days or so). The tips of the flowers seemed brown, but I was told that was fine. Yesterday I watered my plant a tad (had not been watered for around a week or so- and the soil was dry) and this morning, all Hell seems to have broke loose.

The one stem seems to be drooping, and the smaller bits seem to be curling. I'm not sure if something has gone wrong, if I need to cut it back, or if its drooping purely from weight dragging it down. In addition, this has made me worried about the brown tips that seem semi-hard. While I can see gray/light purple buds appearing beneath this, and around the plant, it still has me pretty alarmed.

This is the first plant I've grown ever, it was planted around 3 weeks ago, with rocks and all-purpose soil.

I greatly appreciate any advice, answers, or tips. Thank you!

That's a sad, sad lavender plant. It is spindly and leggy from too little light. Lavender prefers to be in well-drained soil in full sun outdoors.

The best you can do for it is to carefully harden it off then plant it outside in full sun. If in a container, use a larger one that has plenty of drainage holes. JMO

I would also cut it way back before hardening it, to promote bottom growth and preserve energy. But the sun part is really the ultimate goal. Lavender is an easy plant if it gets sun and good drainage.

Echoing what others have said. The photo shows just about the worst possible conditions for lavender. This is a plant evolved for life on a baking, rocky, Mediterranean hillside. It needs full sun, sharp drainage and fresh air. If you want it to survive it needs to be planted outside asap. BUT since it has been inside it needs careful hardening off to outdoor conditions. I would put the container outside in shade for a couple of days. Then plant it out in the ground, water well but continue to shade with a lawn chair or something. Gradually reduce the shade.
