Thanks for your comment. However, that is not the case. Quartzite is actually more durable (harder) than granite and is perfectly fine to place hot items on. Homeowners also must use common sense and not abuse their counter tops as any material can get damaged if they are pushed to the limit. Placing hot pans and sheets on bare stone surfaces is not looked at as good practice.
