It didn't look so Orange in color before. Do you think it has the mortar on it and the stone will lighten up some?

Laura, the photo of stone on the floor - was that in your house before installation? You might be right that especially at top, they left extra mortar.

I would guess they wiped down the front of the stone stones with sponges to get off any mortar, which would change the look/color of the stone. If there are any loose remnants of stone around, wet one down to see how it changes. Once the mortar dries completely, give it several days to a week, it will be significantly lighter and not orange at all. Even if the stone isn’t damp from being washed in the pic, it will look completely different once the mortar achieves its final color (not orange) as you saw when picking out the stone.

Picture on the left was taken on Friday and picture on the right was taken today (Tuesday). I talked to our builder and he said he will lighten up a lot in the next few weeks.

It is starting to look more like the stone you chose originally. The mortar will continue to lighten, and I don't know if it is the lighting or the time of day, the stone in Tuesdays picture looks like what you chose originally. The original pictures looked like the wrong stone was installed, but now it looks much more like it.

I agree with pacific coast, its looking more and more like to original as it dries :)

That being said the original stone looks like it has a sealer on it,

To test my theory pour some water on the new stone work it will show what it looks like with sealer.
