Hello quilters! I am a bit late starting this thread because I had a colonoscopy this morning. Everything went very well and I am fine! As you probably know, the prep is the worst part of the exam. I had to get up at 4 AM for the second part of the prep so a nap was in order after lunch.

I didn't get much done in the sewing room again this week. I did cut the pieces for a twister table runner and plan to sew it this weekend. I also have been playing with some tumbler blocks that I cut out several years ago. Bonnie Hunter is going to do a leader ender project with tumblers starting next month. I have another bag of tumblers cut from Christmas fabric that I will use for that.

Glad to hear someone is sewing this week-end as I probably won't get a chance until maybe tomorrow. Today DGD is moving back home from Orlando for a month as she can't get into the dorm until August and the lease ran out on the apt she was sharing......one more year of college. Tonight is a BD bash out at DDs ranch for the other DGDs husband and I offered to make oven baked mac and cheese for 15 people. In between this, that and the fence post, we're preparing to be invaded (Thursday) by most of the Indiana family to celebrate my honey's 80th BD........since I'll be 75 in Sept, they decided to include me in the 4 day celebration that just happens to include a lot of fireworks. I'm thinking the cows won't be giving any milk for a few days and the horses (all 2 of them) will get spooked.

Sounds like everyone has something to do in the sewing room.......carry on.....

I am cross-stitching a bookmark for birthday present. Spent a couple of days this week organizing embroidery floss on to flat, plastic bobbins.... I need to get more bobbins, did not realize I had accumulated so much floss over the years. This summer is going by so fast. I have quilt projects that I want to work on this summer. This whole year has just been flying by.

LOL Theresa, I have piles of floss, and I don't even embroider that much! I can't resist the pretty colors. :)

I'm not sure what I'll do this weekend. The house really needs cleaning, and I need to do laundry.

I've been quilting my Scrappy Mountain Majesties today. My sis and her husband are coming to town this weekend, and we will be laying out the Winter Windows quilt I am making for her son and his wife. She has a great sense of design, and this makes her feel a part of the quilt's construction.

My husband has decided to get rid of some of his stuff, so I've been posting a lot to Craig's List this weekend. He has so much, we could support our own website - Mike's List.

I think I am actually going to get a quilt on the frame this weekend. I have about 4 tops to quilt. I finished my 'Farmer in the Dell' top this week. I have been working on the applique for around 2 years while traveling for work. I think I will load it first since it is child sized. If the storms are not too bad tomorrow, I might even get it quilted. We have storms right now and they are supposed to last through tomorrow.

I also have some disappearing nine patch blocks to put together into tops. Maybe I can get to them also. They are made from batik fabric samples that I was given a few years ago.

I may try to get some sewing in since I starting cutting fabric strips for an Irish chain....but I have some 'quilt guilt' because I have three tops which need to be sandwiched. I need to bite the bullet and get these larger tops to a long armer.

Supposed to be a rainy weekend, perfect for ignoring garden weeds and heading to the sewing room!

Valarie, I have two tops that need quilting (large lap size). One thing I need to do this week is decide if I need to buy backing fabric for them since JoAnn's is having a big sale next weekend.

Sharon, enjoy your time with family! It sounds like quite a party!

DH and I just finished all the yard work and house cleaning (well, except for a few finishing touches). Now I just have one more load of laundry and chores are done!

Thank you, Donna. Six more arrive on Wednesday and another 6 on Thursday. Can't believe what DH and I did! And that doesn't count the 5 who can't come down. Scary........

Sharon, so happy that you get to spend some time with your family. It is hard when we get all spread out across the country and can't see each other. I have one brother that I see about 1 time every two years or so and another that I see maybe 2 times per year. My son is also a couple hours away as is my mother.

Yay, so far today I have quilted the Farmer in the Dell, sewn a binding on a scrappy baby quilt and put a disappearing 9 patch batik quilt top together. I plan to load another quilt on the frame in the morning. Have not decided which one yet.
