Well, I did get the Hunter's Star back out last weekend, so I'll keep going on that till I get bored with it again. :)

I'm also planning a trip to JoAnn's on Friday to get fabric for a couple more skirts and some blouses. I just can't find ready made clothes that are both reasonably priced and decent quality. Most RTW doesn't seem to have either trait these days.

Mark's cousin's husband was just diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma, so I may make a comfort quilt for him. I could whip up one of Bonnie's free patterns.

I've had a postage stamp leader-ender project going for quite a while, so I'll keep working on that rather than starting a tumbler quilt.

I will be working on my version of Valarie's Garden Gate quilt. I did a sample block last week but decided I wanted a 12in. Block, so I have been playing with graph paper. I did one this morning and I think it will work. And in between loads of laundry, I pulled fabrics.

It is CanadaDay today but chores don't take a holiday.

I just stopped to see who is up to what, since I've taken a hiatus from actually quilting since last fall. I found myself back in the sewing room looking at material yesterday, and thinking it's been awhile, since I forgot where the lever was to lower the feed dogs on one of my machines. That's a sign you've away from it too long. Oh but MY it feels good not to have UFOS.

I normally will not make monthly goals...that four letter word...work...interferes with my plans. However, I stared a blue and white Irish chain and intend to finish the top this month. So far I'm not as thrilled with it as I thought I would be, but I need to be patient. If it turns out ok, I'm giving it to my brother and SIL for their 50th anniversary...their wedding colors 50 years ago were blue and white, I was a 10, too old to be a flower girl and not quite a real junior bridesmaid, but a little bridesmaid I was :-)

LOL Valarie, work interferes with my hobby, too, but getting paid is nice! My brother & SIL had their 50th anniversary last November. I was only 2 when they got married, so WAAAY too little to be a flower girl! :) :) I was my cousin's flower girl at age 4, though.

My July goals are to quilt and bind the restored View from the Cabin quilt that I gave to my neighbor several years ago. Her dog ate several huge holes in it; she "unquilted" the whole quilt; I repaired the top as best I could (being unable to find more matching fabric); and it's now glue basted and ready to re-quilt.

I hope to finish my nephew's Winter Windows quilt top and get it off to the longarmer.

I'm working on a Summer in the Park quilt with a jelly roll of marbled batiks that I got in a scrap bag and a piece of WOW that my friend gave me.

I also have to go through a 12" high stack of patterns and magazines that this same friend gave me. Most of the patterns are for appliqués, which I don't often do, but the magazines have some interesting patterns in them.

I'd also like to quilt the two lotto winnings quilt tops that I have pieced and get them into the "Done" pile.

You have some very nice friends!

I prefer just freewheeling through current projects, but am attempting to finish a quilt for my DN who turned 30, continue visiting Goodwill collecting Hawaiian shirts for an idea that is not fully formed, & maybe work on three others in progress....

Ohhhhhh, I like that idea of collecting Hawaiian shirts, Mary. Hope we can see what you make with them when your idea comes to fruition.

Two tops, lap sized, started and finished. It may never happen again.

It's been a difficult month but worked on most of my projects.

1. Finish quilting SIL's comfort quilt. - Not a stitch but I talked with her in Michigan and she's doing excellent.

2. Get DD's BD top done. - The top is completed and now working on the borders.

3. Keep working on Zelda - Bought more red, it's been through the washer, and still working on getting caught up.

4. Sew blocks together for the red/white Irish Chain for niece. - Blocks are all sewn together in rows. Now to get the rows sewn together.

I have also started one of those Quarter Turn Quilts - I had set this aside until I could decide on more fabric. Ran into a $1 sale at the LQS for FQ's so just need to halve the FQ's and sew them together to make a strip and I'm good to go with finishing this one.

August is tomorrow! Yikes!!!!!

Sharon, I'm glad to hear your SIL is doing well!

I finished the Hunter's Star blocks and it is officially on time-out. I sewed them into 4 patches as I went and many are not flat in the middle. :( So, I don't feel like dealing with figuring that out right now. Time to do something else.
