Trying to get moss to grow on the walk and having to regrow it after scraping and salting every winter (my family's in RI, I know what you're up against) doesn't seem like less work to me. Not to mention I like a front walk to be as free of impediments to safe walking as possible.

Have you looked into polymeric sand? Poly sand is a silica sand mixed with a polymeric binding agent. You pressure wash the walk to clean off the bricks and blast any debris out of the joints, then sweep the sand into the joints, blow any excess off the bricks (otherwise you'll get a haze that lasts several months), and mist the whole thing down. The water activates the binders which lock everything into place. Done.

Wind, rain, and leaf blowers won't dislodge poly sand, and it does a really effective job of preventing weeds. If you were my client, that's the direction I'd steer you. You can do it yourself, or any landscape company that offers patio sealing will typically install poly sand. I included a YouTube video showing how it's done. Any questions, feel free to ask!
