hi Nanette, You can go for bunk beds if your kids are more or less a teenager. That would save alot of space and infact you can add up another furnitures like study table, cupnoards all designed with funkiness. The color of the wall is really good don't you worry. Check these photos

Hi Nanette- don't worry, sometimes the site doesn't update as quickly as we think it should- and multiple posts happen - you can delete the others fairly easily...

Now - to your dilemma... you are working with pretty tight quarters with
the two double beds - but if it's what you are working with, my
suggestion would be to not use much pattern in the bedding. That would
make the room feel even more crowded.

Who's living in the room?
what do they like? The tangerine/turquoise color scheme is fun, and
the beds look like they might be espresso? Something neutral, but with bright colored pillows will keep the fun aspect of the room, without crowding it even further.

It would be nice to find white bedding with a decorative band/stripe of one of the colours (preferably the teal as it's less powerful). i think that adding any more dominant colour to the room will be too much for the space. Then find a toss cushion or throw for each bed that contains the 2 colours together (with the white ideally) as well. Hope that helps!

Hi Nanette.. I love your wall colors! Very fun, I suppose it's a boy's bedroom. I always try to pick a fabric first and then paint... Seems to go easier that way.. But since you came in the back door here I think you need to go with a dove gray bedding. Looks like you have gray carpet. You can do fun throw pillows to play off the wall color but I would stick to solids. Maybe a quilt with a geometric embossing? See if you can return the beds or sell them online. Go for twin beds or a twin over full to save a mattress. You might be better with black furniture over dark brown with those colors. Good luck!

Don't worry about multiple posts. There are far more important things for you (and others) to be concerned with. It is easy to delete multiple posts if you wish to do so.

I am a mother of two sons and a daughter. We have multiple pets that also share rooms with us. I've spent the past 8 months remodeling our second floor as well as decorating it. If something could go wrong, it did. I bought 4 wrong beds and returned all but one. That one I decided the frame was solid so I would reupholster it myself. I returned an entire bedroom furniture set because I thought that it wasn't near the quality I expected for the price I paid. What I'm trying to say is we all make mistakes so don't worry. If I were you, I would return or craigslist the beds in exchange for two twins or a twin over full bunk. Kids like to be in their rooms - especially as they get older. Floor space is a really good thing. My teen has to be enticed to leave his room. We always see him at dinner time. ;) Anyway, I think your colors are great. I would go with a very light gray neutral color preferably solid but a large stripe might not be too bad either. You already have a lot of color and personality in that room on the walls and when you add accessories and personal belongings from two children you'll have plenty to look at. Another suggesting I'll would offer is to find a neutral bedding that you like and then paint the top half of the walls (above the blue stripes) a light neutral color related to the bedding that you find. If its light enough put it on the ceiling too! No edging!

I'd love to see dark stain more espresso or chocolate and not red or mahogany furniture in this room if its for boys. If this is a girls room, I would go with something painted - and neutral. Hope this helps!

Just found a post you shared that your son and daughter share this room. I would skip the bunk bed idea unless they are okay with it. . Switch to two single beds and wouldn't it be cool to put some kind of a fabric divider through the space so they have at least a little bit of privacy or ownership for their space? Its really easy to do and pretty inexpensive.

I like the orange and teal paint. Please make a post about the other threads if you have not deleted them and include the links. If we have all the info in one thread that is helpful. Gray would be a great color to use for bedding but your carpet is gray so make sure it isn't too much. Orange and blue are complimentary colors so you have both ends of the spectrum here already. Neutrals are probably the best to go with but maybe also lighter shades of what you have might work as well. Do switch the beds around if you need more space.

Wayfair.com Best site ever for everything you need from linens to lamps, etc. A little too good! You receive points to use toward future purchases. I bought outdoor furniture and made enough to buy a new bathroom sink and faucet. Check it out. It's a little addicting.

Looooove the color scheme. I would do a very light robin's egg solid on the beds. Not sure what you are able to do about the beds and the space, since we can't really see the entire space on the pictures. I would try to return the beds for something smaller if possible. Your kids will be miserable for years to come if they are too cramped.

Stick with all white bedding and throw in a decorative pillow to pick up your colors.

Is your room long enough to put two headboards together and push the beds up against the wall? ___}{___ like so. Attach lamps/sconces to the walls maybe with a pull out light, for reading. Floating shelves for books. Two small table at the head of each bed for water or what not. Snip snap. A runner rug the length of both beds.
