Bathroom remodel

We are in the midst of a total gut and remodel of our master bath. We are at the stage where I need to pick counter tops, floors, stone for shower. the cabinets will be a Swiss coffee color. We went shopping today and we're totally overwhelmed. This is not our first remodel and have done all this before but just don't want to do the same things again. We went to the granite yard and fell in heavy like with azul fantasy granite. We are not sure if this will be to limiting color wise or gorgeous . What floor and shower stone or porcelain tile will work. Most of our other stone in our home is neutral. Here is a bath we did last year

If this is your forever home, go with what you love. Heavy like, though, doesn't sound like love. Your recent bath is very nice and very neutral. Are you willing to make risks in the master? We will be remodeling our master bath in the next year or so. We just did guest bath with an eye toward resale so our choices are neutral and classic. I would love to take a risk with our master, but future resale reins me in. So I say if it is your forever home, make the fantasy a reality and love it. Good luck.

It is love but I guess I am just a little conservative committing to a permanent thing rather than a neutral where the color scheme can change. Right now it is our forever home but I'm 70 so you never know, LOL. My inclination is we will use it and love it. The floor, shower this will be neutral
    Thanks

we are remodeling our bath also and our architect advised us not to choose a real fancy granite because due to the fact that it will be the center of attention instead of the bath itself. Something to think about. The stress of choosing colors, tile and fixtures is time consuming. Good luck

Wow... love the pictures of the bath you did last year...very classy. I think the ideas from miacometlady let you keep the same classy style and still use the beautiful granite you selected.

Agree with Miacometlady, her selections would make a stunning bath, and that granite will compliment your cabinets beautifully. I also love your other bath, great idea for the shower wall!

Like Miacometlady's picks too. Alternate suggestion might be your neutral w/ some dark grey or black for a change, perhaps the floor?

Research Forza stone for your shower walls-it is travertine. No grout to clean!! We used it about 7 years ago and still love it. Easy maintenance, beautiful! There are several colors to choose from, we used Silver Vein. In the process of gutting shower in new (old) house and will definitely use again-in fact just signed off with contractor! Good Luck.

I believe choose what you love rather than playing it safe. I have done this with good results of rooms coming together and if other people don't like it, tough, it's your house not theirs :) That granite is gorgeous, making it the focal point of the bathroom gives you many neutral choices that will get along well with it.

The pictures of your bathroom is lovely. As I read the post and saw Miacometlady selections (beautiful titles) I came up with some inspirational photos of bathrooms with two types Azul Granite. The first five pictures is of one stunning bathroom (personal favorite).

Your other bath is pretty, but very, very neutral. The thing about "neutral" colors is that they are supposed to be supporting players, not the focal point. Too much neutral and things feel washed out, devoid of sparkle or character...kind of like a mid-level hotel or a hospital. If you really love the granite, then go for it. As you said, you're in your 70's so who cares about everyone else? If you can't do what makes you happy at your age, when can you?? Resale of the house will be someone else's problem. I, personally, would rather smile every time I enter the room for however long I have it than worry about what the next owner wants! Hopefully, the next owner is still several decades away, by which time styles would have changed anyway.

    Hello!
I think that your neutrals from your bathroom completed last year would be beautiful with the Azul Fantasy Natural. Let the granite be the focus with the flooring and splash complimenting it's beauty! If you use the neutral travertine from your other bathroom, you will keep that common thread throughout! Love the granite! Should you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me!
    Cheers!

Thanks for all the suggestions, I was planning on neutrals with it. My fabricator may make listels for the shower from the slab as it is a large piece also a small corner seat and niche shelves will be the granite to tie it all together. The bathroom has an unusual design which I can post tomorrow ( no light to photo now). The shower is curbless and the vanities are back to back. Our house was built in the 70s so our bedroom is open to the bath. We have added 3 windows

I'm trying to design my guest bath. Love your shower from last year. What tiles did you use for the walls and accent? I'd like to put a basket weave on the floor but will probably just stick to an accent wall. Call me chicken.

Go for color! I am moving in 6 months and need to remodel 2 bathrooms and add a third. One will have pink/purple tiled wall with a grey floor and cream accents, the second a multicolored tile floor with a matching band on the window and the guest bathroom a glass multicolored metallic band running from the wall and continuing down the floor. No neutrals for me!

Hi the shower walls are torreon travertine. All of the stone in our house is from Arizona Tile co, they have a great website with lots of ideas.

miacometlady, would you share the name of the top two pics. Beautiful!!

Lainey (that was my Sister's name, RIP), you have gorgeous taste. You did a splended renovation of the other bath and your choice of granite for your master bath is beautiful. Let it be the focus. I would pick up the blue color in towels and accents pieces. Oh, it is so pretty.

Here are our final choices. The azul fantasy granite, shimmer glass accent strip with pencil moulding and the travertine porcelain tiles in different sizes for both the floor and shower

Sorry in the first picture the granite showing at the top is my kitchen counter peeking out, the 2nd is our actual slab

Looks real nice, I love the granite. We are remodeling our master bath and thank you for the suggestions..

Before we remodeled our master bath last year we went to the Parade of homes to get ideas of the now trending styles. Or go to model home open houses for ideas?
