don't know how the color will appear on anyone else's monitor;

on mine, it looks a bit more mauve than it does in real life, but it's pretty close.

This is one of the ones I got from a historic house here in town year before last;

the house hadn't been occupied for years, the windows were boarded up, etc.

A re-habber bought it & told me I could have all the flowers I wanted, since they were likely to be killed when the foundation work was done & the new water line was laid.

I must have dug out 200 irises, planted all I could, gave away all I could, & I've even had them sprout from rotted pieces I had thrown out beside an old garage (those old irises are toughies!)

On the shady side of the house, I accidentally found a clump of...something.

I thought it might be a relative of a crinum, but the biggest bulb was so teeny, about the size of a small salad onion, sort of an ovalish shape, & the whole clump was moldy, shriveled, & softish.

treated them like I did the irises (washed them in a bleach solution for 10 minutes & dried them in the sun) & planted them with good wishes.

This is the first one to bloom.
