Does the soapstone have a specific name and where did you get it?

Soapstone doesn't really have names like granite. This is a pretty standard soapstone color. The best way to find soapstone is to go to a local supplier or fabricator and see what is available in your area.

Was it oiled? Looks pretty light to have been oiled . . .

Yes they do: Albarene, Churchhill from Virginia, Barroca, from Brazil for example.
