Built in Kitchen Banquette

So we are in the process of moving into a new house. We have a kitchen nook that is about 10' deep and 11' wide. We love the idea of doing an L shaped built in banquette. Our plan is to use an IKEA Kejsarkrona table with the dimensions of 63"X 31.5". Looking for some advice on appropriate dimensions of L-shaped bench and suggestion lumber to use for the framing. My idea is to leave some open cubbies in the bottom for some pull out basket storage.

I have numerous photos in my banquettes ideabooks. Some are U-shaped.

If you have casual groups that wouldn't mind climbing way into a booth like that, maybe a U?

We recommend the following
- bench depth at least 15"to 18" accommodate if there is a sloped back rest
- Height 17" to 18"
- top to be stain grade with poly finish if you are covering with cushion.. maple or oak are common selections
- extend your bench beyond the table so you can set first and then slide in
- build the cubbies below to set back a bit so legs and feet are not restricted..about 6"
- for the cubbies use use a 3/4 birch plywood and paint trim color
