First, the suggestion is mineral oil but that is petroleum based so not really organic. 2 weeks ago I used safflower oil on my first batch of corn for the year. It was ineffective. I don't think I used enough or I might have gotten the timing wrong. I am waiting a little longer for the next batch and will use cooking oil again but more drops.
