As for the counter...only if I could find the same one which I believe is possible. Otherwise...any suggestions? I was thinking of granite or quartz but no idea of the color....

HI -- You could paint it any color really ... what is your accent color ? As for a top , a maple cutting board top would be nice and practical , or use a Quartz or real marble . I just question the weight factor using heavy stone etc. on an old furniture piece . And I also tell people ... just because it is an island does not mean you have to have stool seating if you don't need or use it . It could be just a working island . It could then have shelves on the back side for cookbooks and décor items .

Just get a carpenter in there to support vanity... if it needs it. No way it was designed for that weight.
