House stuck in the 1980's - Flooring dilemma

last modified: 11 years ago

We just bought a fixer upper, with great bones and location,

stuck in the year it was built, 1980.

We are definitely removing the glitter popcorn ceilings and mirrors on almost every wall, but I am stumped with the floors. They are the same marble floors throughout the ENTIRE house (even bathrooms) and have a brick red trim that clashes with my decor esthetic. I am looking for inspiration that would convince me to keep the floors, because I know they are valuable and might outlast any current trends. Please help and let me know what you would do with trhese floors? We live in South Florida and I was persistent about putting new floors, but the husband is trying to make his case for keeping them and making them work so we can remodel other things. Please help, Keep or remove...
