We were lucky enough to buy a beach house on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. I should just shut up and be happy. But I have a problem with the kitchen island. The kitchen (part of the great room) is on the wall opposite the view so that when working at the island the view is right in front of me. But everyone else wants to be where I am working to also enjoy the view--and they are in my way. Although I put the stools on the other side, they move them to my side and I don't want to glue them down to prevent this. What shape or figuration would you suggest to keep everyone out of my way?
