Did you have any colours in mind? As it is the biggest surface in the room, I usually advise to buy the bed cover first, and take the room colours from that.

Yes, don't be afraid of colour, just don't have a stimulating colour looking at you as you lay in bed. Behind the bed head is fine.

oh, oh, i try to be fair, but if you go to my idea books you will find them loaded with blue, I adore all blues, except baby blue, uggghhh. help yourself if it helps.

A touch of red can be wonderful with purple, if you want to bring a bit of your living area in to the bedroom.

Temitope, the need for a dressing table in the bedroom depends entirely on your habits, I think. I like to have my cosmetics and mirror in my bedroom, but lots of people have the storage and lighting they need in their bathroom. Then it turns from "do I need one" to "do I want one". Your bedroom might look bare without one -- or perhaps some kind of chest of drawers -- or it might not.

Have you looked at the Malm dressing tables by Ikea. I know Ikea is often kind of frowned upon but this table is one I've heard used by many designers due to its clean lines and good size. Just a thought. I'm looking at it for my master as well as part of a small redo.

I love ikea. we have the malm bedroom set in the usa lol. never thought about that.

This is just an example of what I mean rather than a specific suggestion (though I like it), but I think you could look for a table, something like this, with just those shallow top drawers, and then buy the mirror separately. A lot of dressing-table-with-mirror combinations are pretty dull.

Lighting is so important and often the last thing on the list. Attached is a sconce that would look great on a wall with this bed. A nice contrast to the modern lines of the bed. More at Lightsculptures... www.tjferrie.com

The spelling? SA has standardised (in publishing) on the "s" spelling for realise, organise, etc, though one wouldn't think so when one edits the writing of South Africans, who actually seem to prefer the "z". Or that could be their spellchecks messing with what they type.
