How about bias tape binding? Make your own bias....cut wide enough to stitch to wrong side edge, fold over to right side--hand or machine stitch down. Simple fix.

Opps, armholes and neckline

I just looked at a few YouTube videos from making your own tape to buying it. It looks like what I want but more timely than I wish. But I'll go that route.

We used to "stitch in the ditch". If it's a cotton knit, which I'm assuming it is, you cut the armhole and neck line to the finished size you want. Then you wrap the edge in a strip of either matching or contrasting fabric. This link will give detailed instructions with photos.

Thank you all for your advice. I am wondering which would be the easiest to do? This will just be a lounge around the (hot) house top so it doesn't have to be fancy or perfect.

I have simply folded the edge over and topstitched. At a really tight armhole curve, I might have to clip the seam allowance, but that's not so bad--it's a single layer, so it's not thick; it's a knit, so it won't ravel; and it's getting topstitched so it'll stay in place and not ravel.

Thanks Talley-Sue I think I'll go with your idea. I love simple and since I'll just be wearing it around the house who cares about the edges.
