Please help! Desperately need opinions!

We just bought this beautiful solid wood table (originally from pottery barn) for a steal! I wanted a table that would comfortably seat 6, however it seems too big/bulky for the space. Can you please share your thoughts/opinions and whether you think it could work. Also any decor/design ideas would be much appreciated! What would you change/remove/add? Thank you.

Eliminate the curio cabinet. IMO the appearance is dated and it doesn't coordinate with your new dining table or the more contemporary appearance of your home. That should free up some visual space.

The table as well as the chairs are look beutafull. Hope the tale can be made bigger if needed at special ocasseions.

Some small decor change would make the dining room and living room more coheisive.

You need a rug under the dining table and a bigger rug under the coffe table by the sofa. chose only grey, brown, beige, and silver and calm colors to style the room. Some other art work on the walls would maybe be helpfull.

I would chose a bigger more decorative mirror on the wall. (Love the lamps) place them symetrical and dioagonal from the mirror and wall. hanging the mirror on the blank wall and some shelves above the desk would also bring in some cohesion.

Hang a more modern lighfixture centered above the table. Painting a grey frame on th wall and hang an art piece in the center would make it more cozy an not neseserrely darker.

The liquer cabinet looks a bit to much pressed up against the sofa. add lights inside.

Thank you both for your input! I will likely get rid of both the cabinet and the buffet table as well as the chandelier. Does anyone have any decor ideas? Mirror/area rug/chandelier suggestions?

I love the table and chairs. They look great. Is it possible to put an area rug down to help define the space too?

The table and chairs are lovely. Possibly you could chalk paint the china cabinet and buffet black and still use it. I would remove the mirror, possibly put the large art work over the credenza/cabinet instead. Is the light fixture over the table centred?

Don't have a problem with buffet, but do lower mirror or get new on and lose the pictures on top. Get a large piece of art for wall after removing cabinet. Make sure new chandelier is centered over table.

1) mirror should be almost the same length as the buffet. and more artistic

2) chandelier needs to be of the same shape as the table - in this case rectangular.

3) the table looks too bulky because you have no perspective. I would recommend you to use a mural like http://www.sainteriordesignstoronto.com/fire-to-the-rain.html

It can be anything trees, streets, city, mountains, water... but is has to be something with a view
