Mango Seedling

So I'm trying to grow a mango from seed. I live in texas so we get plenty of sun, and I use miracle grow potting mix. I've been watering it about once every 3 days in a medium sized pot. Just today I left the seedling in direct sunlight for several hours and now it looks like the photo provided:

what should I do? I've tried growing a mango plant before but it died after a few months.. I need more advice for growing a tropical plant like mangos. I also have another mango pit germinating in a moist paper towel

You better buy a grafted tree if you're serious to grow it untill fruit.

Grafted fruits much faster and guarantee's a good mango, now you don't know what you'll get and have to wait many more years.

There should still be plenty of food reserves in the seed so it will probably come good. I wouldn't toss it out just yet.

what is the problem ? it looks OK to me if it is just unfurling.

Or, were the leaves open, and then it wilted ?

tropicbreezent is correct. there is plenty of energy in the seed for a few weeks of growth. i would add a very light application of fish emulsion. you can do it now since it takes time for the microbes to feed on it.

Do you know what type mango ? The ataulfo i think are polyembryonic and true to type. is this the only sprout from the seed ? (was it small and yellow?)

ive grown lots of mango from seed,its a good learning experience before buyiong a grafted tree, and who knows, you may get fruit... maybe a little longer, but to me, there is no point in throwing it away if you have room... but then i have about 10 mango seedlings and dozens of other plants large and small

I'm pretty sure this plant is dead. See, it was scorched in the sun by accident. The seed that the plant is attached to is very brown and dry despite watering. It has wilted even further and is on the verge of collapse. The stem is also quite dry and shriveled. And this a mango seed from store bought fruit, so I'm not sure exactly what kind of mango it is, but in sure it isn't polyembryonic
