Chairs and glass at knee and foot level could be an issue. If you are set on that look use plexiglass. Also for the sake of symmetry I suggest 3 more legs. You can get legs that are 3/4 (pie slice) cut out that will snug to the cabinet.

What is the size of the opening? l x w x h Perhaps a kid fridge? I have a small fridge in the kitchen that holds my little guys drinks and snacks. He can reach it easily and it eliminates him grabbing a chair and foraging through the main fridge. Most of all it empowers his independence. Another thought would be a small freezer, wine fridge or wood shelves and baskets. If you do any of the above I would also suggest that you put a false side to square off that cabinet.

Although the leg does not butt to the side I would still add the other legs so it does not look like a one legged pirate.

you could skip legs entirely by getting a brace that installs inside the wall (or cabinet) and extends out along the underside of your counter for support. then, no leg to work around, no asymmetry, etc.

definitely no on the glass shelves. you could put in some wine storage, maybe cookbook shelves (wood), an extra regular cupboard or pair of drawers -- the possibilities are endless!
