Where should the tv go??

If the mantle is the only place thank I guess that's where i'll have to put it but I was really hoping to put a giant clock with some candle sticks up there.

I'd love to hear any suggestions!!

I don't see why it couldn't go on the wall opposite the fireplace. I can't tell for sure, but it looks as if it is in line with the fireplace. Furniture is then arranged for dual focus, fireplace at one end, TV at the other. You would then use 2 sofas facing each other with large coffee table in line with the center of the fire place. Instead of 2 sofas, 2 chairs on one side facing sofa on the other. There are other variations possible depending on the actual dimensions of the room and the scale of the furniture. It looks like you have a very well designed room to work with.

(That mirror really needs to go.)

Also, what color would you paint the walls? I want to paint the mantle to match!!

of that is a real woodburning fireplace you'll ruin the tv over the mantel. they make gorgeous tv stand Easels and can place your tv anywhere!

I love the use of a bench or chaise to bridge two areas of a large room. That would work here so you can locate the tv in the back half of the room. A swing arm would allow the tv to be angled for better viewing across the room.

Anna, wall color is part of the total look of a room and needs to be coordinated with the furniture and draperies. Usually specific wall color is chosen after the various fabrics for a room are chosen. Without knowing what the furniture is, the wall color can't be determined.

Be cognizant of the skylights, they will interfere with your TV screen, unless you put up something to close them off. The layout from nimrod25 and the second one from W Brown, are your options for the layout, where you can then accessorize your fireplace. Are you only painting the fireplace, and not doing anything else to it(larger mantel, take away brick, etc.). What are you going to do with the floors? What colors do you have in mind for furniture, paint? What do you want to feel when you walk into the room(cheerful, elegance, airiness, warmth, serenity, etc...), this might help with choosing your colors.
