What colour is the IKEA unit?

Hello, so the cabinet is the same you see in the picture, high gloss white with black stone counter.

I'm looking from an iPad and there's no pic of the unit, that's why I asked - it's just showing four photos rather than the seven you mention.

I always think in bathrooms darker greys look more luxurious and expensive, so really like some of the darker greys in your post. Love Chelsea Grey and Grey Matters. Are you painting the window frame at all?

Hello Marta, Most welcome! The creamy colour was actually another suggestions for the walls as a complimentary one so you could decide whether to go purple and grey or add something lighter if you chose to.. You could also find a creamy white for the floor to achieve the look you wanted with the wire brushing.. : ))

About the window...is a good suggestions. What colour should I go for? The issue with the window is that I have to find a paint for plexiglass. And another thing is the skirting board, that maybe I could paint the same colour as the window, but I am not sure what colour. I am getting confused with the colours!!! :-(

Hello Marta, Well either go for something like a creamy white for the wood work.. Or you can go a darker route and use something complimentary to the walls so for example you may want to accent the skirting, window, door and architrave by painting a purple lets say.. Or keep it simple and paint a nice creamy white as the floor will have bits of white.. :))

Mmmm really nice! I didn't think about the architrave, and I love the idea! I'd maybe go for accent purple there, grey the walls, and creamy white the floor...I hope not to mess up everything!

Hello Marta, lovely! So keep the purple colours close.. A shade darker or lighter for the woodwork.. Also if you had a creamy wall like the colours I posted.. you can still have accent architrave and woodwork. If you decide to have a creamy wall then use creamy white for the floor as well.. Maybe the bath wall stays the creamy colour... :))

Yeah got your point: not mix grey and purple to much, or go for creamy and accent purple on the wood work and architrave. Yep about the bath wall, now there are the ugly tiles...so will think how to do it.

Hello Marta, you can mix grey and purple... they are complimentary.. I meant make sure the shades are similar. Personally the sink tiles are to high. 1 row or 2 at the most..

Maybe there is a way for you to mount the new sink and cabinet to hide a row.. They might actually suit the new sink.. So before you discard them.. Have a look to see if you can - maybe you remove the old sink temporarily to see how to situate the new one. If it doesn't work you can remove them and get new ones.. I would look at using them in some way but try to hide a row with the mount. Bath tiles could be replaced if you wanted to do that. Either much bigger tiles or subway style is nice.. : ))

Ohhhh thanks!!! Yes this is super useful! And the fact we have to find a way to mount it safely, in the wall that is plasterboard :-)

so I've found similar shades from Dulux, I think are nice.

Hello Marta... Ah! with something of such weight you will need to make sure it will carry the load. Heavy duty raw plugs! .. but it may have wall mounting information with it.. but you can add wall batons and other weight bearing fixtures even with a partition wall, it's just more work.... Maybe there is an option to reposition the wall mounted sink to a stud wall. The colours you have chosen will work nicely together.. Yes! : ))

Thank you, I will check the condition of the wall, and kind of raw plugs that can hold the cabinet. We have got as well a pair of legs for the sink. About the colours, thanks! I will try to get samples as well, and see how those works on the wall.

Hello guys, so sorry to bother again, I'd like to ask help on the mirror as well.

We have got a big mirror with no frame, I was thinking to create a kind or frame with the paint.

How do you suggest I can create it? Would be good do a small frame with the creamy/white, especially if I go for the grey and purple shades I posted above?

Hello Marta, Have you thought about adding a wooden frame, Or even a square board painted which you then fix the mirror onto... I feel this might give you a better look than painting one on.. Even the mirror as it is might be nicer than painting something onto the surface.. : ))

Hello Marta, Welcome.. I think mounting the mirror onto a wooden piece and allowing for framing all the way around could be the easiest method to work with what you have got.. Can be light wood or mdf that you could paint.. It offers you the chance to use what you have and possibly easier that making a frame.. Or.. You could possibly go to charity shops and buy an old frame to sit the mirror into..as you would with the picture and the sheet of glass.. Secure it in place as you would with a picture and away you go..

Easiest way of creating a frame without carpentry involved... : ) )

I think your colour scheme sounds nice.
My only addition is to suggest you paint the skirting a boards the same as the floor- this will visually trick your eye into thinking the floor and therefore the room is bigger.

So just to update, I am attChing the picture of the paints samples on the wall.

I have to say I am bit disappointed from the tap we have got from IKEA. Apparently on Ireland there is no high pressure water in the houses, so the tap we haa choose is not working. So today we went to get another one.

one more thing: I have found a laminate flooring that I like a lot. Adding the picture of it as well.

I hope we'll be able to install it without many issues!!

The flooring is very nice.. I think you will find that will look fantastic.. With the paint samples.. I hope the tap is a better replacement..

Try painting onto A4 paper and then stick them not so close to each other.. Then you can really get a better idea before you choose the final colours.. : ))
