Theresa, we don't leave till next Friday, so I think Erika will be long gone by then. Hopefully there won't be another one right after!

Thanks, Donna. I plan to start getting some things around tomorrow. Have been watching TWC and they sound like it might lessen when going through/over the mountains. We still don't need the rain though. DD said to be prepared. She usually wants us to evacuate to her house, but we'll see. Stay safe where you are.

We are on Fl East Coast (near Space Center). 8 pm Friday; looking less likely we'll have much more than some rain, but really is still too soon to tell. This is why we keep wine, chocolate and fabric on hand at all times! Seriously, tho, we've been hammered hard before and don't with bad stuff on anyone...it really is no fun.

Yes...wine, chocolate and fabric...all the storm essentials! Love it ;-)

do be careful, we know how the weather can change quickly...

This morning they are predicting a more western track...better for Beth & I, but worse for Sharon! Yesterday they said it will probably be downgraded to a tropical depression today, so hopefully it will end up just being a big rainstorm. We've had LOTS of those lately!

More water we don't need and if there's a lot, the greenhouse will be flooded. So far, he's been able to thwart that particular problem. The first time it flooded, he started working on it never happening again, and so far, it's worked. I won't be able to gather supplies or anything in case of evacuation, so it's a good thing Erika has been downgraded. Don't know what happened, but my back got twisted or something and I'm trying not to move ...... :-(

oh no, SharonG_FL...know what that is like and it is NOT good. Hopefully you've gotten better as the day has gone on. I did get out the prairie points project...have 5 blocks left to make of the 40; good progress today. With the unknown weather, just leaving it all over the dining room table, besides, it's too hot for yard work this weekend. (that's my story and i'm stickin to it!).

Sharon, I hope your back is better today!

I see that the new storm is just off the coast of Africa and is already a tropical storm - Fred. The NHC is showing it still near Africa by Friday.

Thank you, Beth and Donna. I babied it yesterday and will do so today, too. But, it is much better, and hope to sit at the machine for awhile..... :-)

It's sunny outside right now, but the rains are supposed to start later on this afternoon.

We have sun now, too. Mark just got home from church and is rapidly mowing the lawn while he has a chance. :)

We heard thunder, but had no rain. DD lives 9 miles inland from us and it dumped at her house. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Sharon, we never got any rain yesterday, either.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Sharon. Take it easy! I'm glad you Florida gals are out of harm's way. Hurricane Ignacio is going to miss my friend in Honolulu too. The weather gods are cooperating.

I'm so glad the storm was downgraded. Sharon, I hope you are feeling better today.
