They will continue to grow, although even if all the trees grow at the same rate (which they likely will not if they did not before), I'm afraid that you will have traded asymmetry in height for asymmetry in form. The sheared trees will end up looking significantly different than the non-sheared ones.

why would you want to force symmetry in nature ... sounds boring ... its the asymmetrical nature .... of nature.. that makes it interesting ...

but on rereading.. i see the job is done.. so be it ...

all trees releader ... you will be pruning the new leaders back every year or 3 .. for the rest of your .. or their life ... and each tree is unique ... so they will remain uneven on new growth ...
