Help me ID this grasslike weed

I have had a problem with this weed for years, it grows about twice as fast as my grass... and looks like what I'd call monkey grass. It comes out as individual tufts and has no connected vine network. I tried spraying it with WeedBGon, all it did was make it look yellower. I'd like to get it eradicated before I overseed this Fall. Any ideas?

I get good results with Sedge ender

Looks like yellow nutsedge. Do a search and you'll find myriad threads on the topic - it thrives in moist areas (although will grow even in dry soil, as I can attest to in my garden) and is tough to get rid of.

Exactly right. Thanks for the answer. I'll hit it with some specific herbicide in the spring.

We're over-seeding next week, so I'll hit it once the new grass takes a bit I guess.

If you're overseeding next week I would be buying & using a nutsedge-specific product today. Not Sedge ender though, it has a pre-M built into it. I don't think Image had a pre-M but check the label first.
