How Much Would You Pay

I saw these in a local store. Not certain if they are Haworthia attenuate or limifolia. I personally think it's the former. They are in 4" pots and some with offsets. What would you consider a reasonable price?

I bought a similar-sized limnifolia a few years ago for maybe $6. It has since produced many offshpring.. Wouldn't pay more than $10 now..

Are they asking a crazy price?

No. Not at all. They are asking just under $10. Do you think it's H. limifolia?

I do. Top view? Offsets are great. I'll take a plant with offests over a larger individual. Bonus plants!

Sorry Brad. I only took this shot with my phone. Surprised it isn't sideways!!! I may go back and grab a few.

Yes, Richard. That would be me. It was just a thought. You never know when someone out there would like to have one of their very own and if i can assist in that task, it would be my honor.

    8 dollars

They are very cheap here: between 3 to 5 euro.

For those of us in the USA that would be $3.45 to $5.75.

Oh Howard....and they say chivalry is dead, lol. (Re: needing to have a few on hand should *someone else* need some lolzors)

Thanks, Minty. Trust me, if I had the right location, it would be up and functional in a heartbeat!!!

Knowing me I would be very tempted to pull a pup and stuff it in my pocket. I have never done this but have been tempted....

Hat first thought I assumed it was limifolia, but the overall shape appears a bit less wide than usual... Could be just due to growing conditions. I'll look at mine more closely again tomorrow.

And I totally understand your desire to get one... I tend to think " oh I should buy this now, because I might not see it for sale again for a long time" . Which leads to this being a somewhat stressful time of year, because I start worrying about where everyone will overwinter...I am not able to overwinter them under lights right now. They barely all fit indoors last year ( and a bunch went to my very understanding office) but I bought so many new plants this summer..... And I propogated a bunch....why?...

Because life must live! We are just helpers.

    Haha, exactly!

Howard- I bought mine for $5 in a 6" pot. Mine was the variegated form.

Wow, Neil....where did you find that deal!

    a local nursery.

I guess succulents are a dime a dozen out there though, huh?

No, not really and the variety is a little more but,not by much.

How did you ever decide on this Howard?

I guess the question I was asking about Chocolate Haws is what you're asking about this limifolia.

How would someone tell you if they needed this species?

It's all about personal choice and what each of us views as desirable. There are many who like the plants belonging to the 16 or so members of the subgenus of Haworthia, Hexanglare. I am more partial to the Haworthia subgenus.

I tried to google "hexanglare" but Google said there were "0" results.

I am assuming one is the window leaf type and the other are the hard, aloe-like Haws? Which is which?

    nevermind! Found it.

I think my Google is broken or they are messing with the coding again...or something.
