I built these shelves, which definitely need some major styling/tweaking, but they're soooo boring. My living room has very little natural light due to oak trees in my front yard, so white shades of paint and "muddy" neutrals looking dingy and all color is lost.

I used to have my living room painted a charcoal gray, and it hugged the walls, but it was too overpowering. So this is where I am. I want more color and a warm, welcoming feel when I walk in the door, you know?

I cannot run out and buy all new rugs, furniture, drapes, etc. It takes me so long to purchase new items that I'm already "feeling" something else by the time I make it there! So I'm hoping to come up with an overall design plan that I can stick to for the long haul!

And yes, I know there are wires hanging and an empty entryway, but I have not decided if I'm keeping this layout just yet either. Will you help me?
