Always looking for ways to improve the worm production so thought i would try to make small flow thru bin. It's about 20 x 16 in. , just large enough to fit an old oven rack for the base. Since cold/wet weather is on it's way I've just got it on some small wooden blocks to allow for some better air flow. Next spring I'll build a frame around it to lift it high enough to scrape castings from the bottom. Guess I'll have to wait 'til next summer to pass judgement.

Has anyone else found significant improvements with a flow-thru as compared with a regular bin....... healthier worms, faster reproduction or food consumption etc? Any downsides to the flow-thru style?
