Did this posting get missed among the rest? I'd really like some ideas about glass in the upper cabinet doors.

I'm glad you're changing out the "curve" cabinet tops! I think I'd do the cabinets glass on the three doors on the right of the sink. Or, the ones you have pretty dishes/glasses in. I wouldn't do by the stove because that's where I keep the oil/spices and not so pretty to see! I think think the three doors on the right of the sink would look best,and definately add a top puck light. That way, the cabinet can add a "lighted hutch" look and shine on pretty glassware, or just add a light element to the kitchen.

I like your walnut stain idea. Are you changing the hardware? These would look nice with your new cabinet color/update.

Unless you are going with a more translucent glass I would suggest thinking about the items that you don't mind having visible. For me I would be glad to display my dishes. I know these would stay nice and neat. It would be more a traditional cupboard look with dishes. If you have an area that functions as a bar area this might be an area, as well. In this case, something like a glass front corner could work. For myself, I would not be so keen on having my food items on display. Those are the types of things I put around my stove. I have a tendency to be messier with these cabinets. Personally, I like symmetry so I would probably do them flanking the sink. However, I have seen nice layouts where they are asymmetrical. This might depend on how symmetrical your house is. I would also think in terms of where you might want a focal point looking in from your other rooms or a doorway etc. Where would you want your eyes to be drawn to? My advice would be to think of a couple places that make sense to you and draw it out on grid paper.

It will be interesting to see before and after pictures.

The best solution would be to put glass fronts on matching cabinets. I can't tell if your cabinets on either side of the sink are matching or not. If not then I agree that the cabinets over the dishwasher should be the ones.

Personally in my kitchen I put in glass in the cabinets on either side of my stove but they were double cabinets and matched (I keep the oils above the stove) my dishes are kept in the glass front cabinets and they look great! You might also want to paint the interior in a color that makes your dishes really pop! Especially if you light the cabinets. I might re-think the walnut color since your appliances are all white, they may stick out like a sore thumb, they will also absorb more light and make the kitchen look dark if you don't have enough lighting. Another door to have glass could be the wall corner cabinet.

I have a separate pantry on the wall opposite the dishwasher, so these cabinets only store dishes, and pots & pans, no food.

Hopefully the attached photo is of hardware. I would like 960 for drawers, 971 for doors. I prefer knobs for the doors, but filling in the 2nd hole left by the old pulls would be a problem. Not this finish, probably, but I like these shapes.

I would not put them on the cabinets around the stove. They might get dirty and greasy if you cook a lot. If you don't then go for it. :-)

I'm planning to use some kind of frosted or opaque glass, not completely clear. Good point about the walnut stain and the white appliances, which are staying. I'll have to choose as light of a "true brown" walnut stain as I can tolerate.

Fizzy lemon, my contractor said the same thing. But wouldn't w index take care of that?

I was a manicurist for many years, and by accidental discovery I found that just plain rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle cleans everything in your house with little effort in streak free.much cheaper than Windex, I buy it at Costco and added to spray bottles at home, one of the best things I've ever discovered LOL

Corner cabinets are the ones which would be good in glass.

I'd skip the glass unless you have something fantastic and display worthy. If you don't have a clear idea of where to put the glass then that's a clue not to do it. It can look good but glass for the sake of glass doesn't seem like a good idea. It will make the kitchen look more busy.

Go with a sleeker look over the sink window. A roman shade would look so much better.
