I would go a richer color on the house color - consider sandstone color is in the stone facade. Also the driveway color should compliment the house colors - the red brick color changing to the colors in the stone facade. Could also consider wooden garage doors and a landscape border between the driveway and the lawn. Good luck with your beautiful home.

Thank you, yes I think wooden garage doors and a wooden front door, mabe with partial glass or do you think solid. Homeowners will not permit us to change driveway.

The color of the house is too light, I would got with a medium shade green but not a cool green. Keep it warm with a mossy or gold tone. Garage doors can be faux painted to look like wood and are super easy to maintain. The stone is fine and will really look great with a contrasting color on the body of the house. Try to make the entry more visible and distinct, it can be a fabulous focal point!

Great ideas to consider, thanks so much. I will look at faux painting door, didn't know that was possible and more affordable. I want my front door to pop because it looks so lost...not sure we can change siding color, so I may need to just come up with the right door and garage doors!

Second floor area above the brick seems to need a color that gives more visual weight to it, to unify that whole vertical element from roof to foundation, whether using a more saturated and grater color or a shade of gray. Where else to use that color, you might consult some photographs of Victorian homes. Also, try out an online color simulator from your favorite paint source. Since your house brick looks like a shade of orange to me, I'd think a dark shade of green (leaning either way--yellow or blue, but perhaps olivey would look better?) with enough black or dark gray to balance with the brick. Actually, both bricks! I would think the paint stores would all have at least one go-to person for house colors.

I agree with Lunada about house needing bolder color, but think that the red driveway brick will blend away to one's eye once a stronger color is used on the house.

Since the driveway can not be changed, and would be costly if it could, I would not worry too much about that, or the brick border. You said the siding could not be changed, or the color of the siding can't be changed?

Yes, my color choices for siding would limited because I will have to stay in uniform with other homes in the neighborhood. Light gray or beige would be the warmest. Also cost would be a factor. The house is only 8yrs old, so the vinyl is still in great shape. Maybe just staying warm on doors will help. More olive or shade of green , I like and wish I could do!

Maybe I should look into taking brick all the way up on the one side, I agree with it looking like an after thought.

The brick looks like it extends too high up, and would look more proportionate if it was maybe 2 feet lower. Maybe they were trying to make it end at the roofline of the garage? Short of taking off the top few feet of brick maybe painting the rest of that bump out in a color that mimics the brick may balance it out better? Just a thought.

Lovely home! Garage doors should be same color as siding. I agree with previous posting that siding color should be darker and complement the brick. There is nothing wrong with the brick and the placement. You just need correct color of siding. Once you do that, the home will be beautiful and garage doors will not stick out.

Sometimes it is difficult to make a huge improvement when you have color limitations. The designers job for a housing tract is to appeal to the masses. The majority of homeowners in the area may be delighted with the exterior of the house. I believe that your home is a palette that lets you become an individual in a smart and attractive way, however, sometimes we would prefer not to live next to a purple house.

Don't get me wrong, small changes can make a big difference. You have a lot of good ideas. The bones of this home are good, it just takes some thought and maybe stepping out of your comfort zone

It has been brought up, but I want to make sure it is clear the major problem you have are the garage doors, they are your star, not your front door. So anything you can do to make the garage to recede and the front door to become more spectacular is really great.

Thank you, I will consider all the great suggestions. I do appreciate our limitation, cause I to don't want to live near a purple house. Lol. The garage doors I will work on, I think that might rally help and making my front door pop!

I love the yellow siding, and I wonder if you would consider painting the brick yellow. In any case, I would suggest black shutters on the two front lower and upper windows to accent these areas of the house. There does not appear to be room for shutters on the other windows, unfortunately. If there is room, I would add them.
