That is a pretty wall with the art and leaves. Was that stencil- painted?

Why do you want more pattern on a wall -- especially as it seems you don't have a rug picked out? Or maybe you want mostly texture in your wallpaper, as in grasscloth.

I think you should post more photos for us. You don't think you'd want the same paint on the mirror wall?

Even though we can't see all the walls directly, there appears to be a lot going on in the room, at least according to the reflection in the mirrors. I think you need to edit and simplify so the focus can be on the lovely art you have and what looks to be a nice view.

I would remove the mirrors first. They are overwhelming the space. I would move one of the sofas so it is facing patio, and move the chairs so they are facing the wall mirrors are currently on. Basically creating a U shape that is facing the patio. On the wall the mirrors are on, arrange a few pieces of your art.

I wanted to share this photo with you because the room colours reminded me of yours, so maybe a good idea of what an orange rug could look like. I don't recommend a patterened wallpaper as I think it will compete with the artwork, and think painted walls would be best option.

Isn't the sofa a sectional? If so, you might want to place them together (in the corner), or at least place them in a way that makes it better for conversation.

I like the colors you have with your furnishings, especially the leaves on the one wall.

You might consider just adding horizontal wallpaper trim at the top of the walls all around the room to add the color you want or wood finished trim boards there rather than wallpaper for the entire wall. If you used the wider trim boards, you could even add a cornice over the windows and have two boards from the trim -- one narrower trim board with color affixed to a wider trim board with the color/finish of your mirror and picture frames. With a cornice and a double curtain rod, you could add color with your sheers that coordinates with rather tan being the same color as your drapes. If that is a patio door to your deck rather than a window ---- or even if it isn't -- you might consider vertical blinds that come in range of colors, including bright ones to add the color you want while being much more easily changed if you find you have more of the bright color than you like.

Can you repurpose your coffee table as an end table?

Something you might consider is investing in a cabinet with glass doors as a "stuff" cabinet and put in it most of the smaller "stuff" you now need to dust, leaving what you want to display at the front of the cabinet next to the glass doors. By doing this you'd not need to edit or downsize your collection of collectables; you'd just decide which ones you want to favor most and still dust, which ones you want to favor and be seen at the front of the bookcase and which ones get stacked behind the rest of the stuff in the cabinet.

A "stuff cabinet" can be a tall barrister's bookcase or a china cabinet or a curio cabinet or even a commercial display cabinet, or upscale wood kitchen or even bath cabinets -- any of which you might find at your nearest Habitat for Humanity Restore Store on any given day at a substantially reduced price -- needing varying degrees of TLC to make them like new again -- some needing very little. Inventory varies from day to day as donations and purchases are made. Items not quickly sold are reduced in price as needed to make room for more donations. You might also check antique/used furniture stores. Some of the "classic" (older used) cabinets are a much better find than the new cabinets.

You should seriously reconsider the two huge mirrors -- they dominate the room.

Since you chose a sectional, consider putting the pieces together with the corner diagonally across from the corner left of the window. Your sectional would then define your seating area and you could forego the serious expense of a quality rug. At least try ways of putting it together before you make any other major decisions. If you could put part of it where the yellow chairs are and the other part under where the two huge mirrors are, you'd both begin to define the seating area and still have a traffic path behind the sofa, leaving room for the "stuff" cabinet on the wall that now has the leaves, if you're painting over the leaves anyway.

choose your rug first!! then decide everything from there-rugs are usually a big investment, and it is often harder to find a pleasing one. then choose paint colors and do any editing on your decor after.
