boring square shaped 4 tall wall courtyard HELP

I have a nice brick paved 4 walled courtyard and want to make a beautiful garden and outdoor living space. The feature plant is a 20yr old desert rose. I have some fish tail palms I would like to grow for shade, but I need ideas for seating and plantscape.
