I don't think you can get slip covers for recliner sofas as they need to move, and it just doesn't work to put a slip cover over them.

Here's another picture I came across under the heading of 'rustic beach.' It might be more what you should aim for as it has the dark furniture like yours. I personally love the more rustic look....

If you can afford it, buy a couple sisal rugs to go under the dining room table, and in front of the couch and loveseat. That would be a good start to having a rustic beachy house. Overstock.com and Amazon.com are good places to buy rugs with free shipping.

Firstly, I would rearrange your furniture. It's making the room seem small and cluttered. The Beach on the other hand is light & airy!

FYI Sears sells recliner slipcovers! Start with the removing the (desk?), the uncushioned chair, and the chair in the corner. Move the writers cabinet down by the buffet. Where the love seat is now, put your large sofa. Place the love seat opposite the sofa. Add some fun shell or nautical looking accent cushions to the sofas (HomeSense & Pottery Barn). A jute style rug placed in both the living room and under the dining room table will unify the two areas. Place a small round coffee table between the couches.

Replace the white blinds with match-stick bamboo rollers. Paint the room a cool turquoise like BM Blue Grass CC-640 and paint the buffet, the cabinet, buffet lamps, and the picture frames in "beachy" distressed complementary colours such as the picture attachments show. Hang all your unified picture frames on the wall and relocate the city nightlife. In the inbetween space of the buffet place a mirror. Add some undermount lights to illuminate the shelves..

White, light blue and light beige are the most common color combinations for a beach feel. If you can't get slipcovers, remove all the throw pillows and replace them with a textured throw. I agree with hayleydaniels in painting the entertainment unit white, great idea. If you can remove the chair between the love seat and sofa your space will feel more airy and less crowded. It's a small piece but it's taking up a lot of visual space.

Understand that just because you are at the beach does not mean you need to decorate as such that said, I recommend the slip covers for all dark furniture. I would do that and replace fabrics, before i begin painting things. These sets are under $25 each. Blue:
