Can you move the chairs to the right hand edge of the rug (as shown in the photo) and turn them to face the TV? That way you wouldn't have to move the TV.

Not enough space as that's the entry to my room there. Have to walk past to get in bed.

Do love your chairs. It looks like you have a large room. What about placing the chairs at the foot of the bed, so that you can watch t.v. from them and then reposition the area rug underneath them? Depending on your bedding and other colors in the room, I think a large white leather round ottoman would look nice.

I like Karen's suggestion... it would pull the room together. As for ottomans, what about Moroccan leather poufs? You buy the outside and stuff with newspaper... they are beautiful and last forever.

Definitely move thetv to the other wall. Move the chairs as suggested either in front of tbe bed or leave a gap for moving around the bed. Rearrange the rug accordingly. On the wall the tv had been on find a small dresser and load it up with coordinating accesories and some greenery. Window needs some dressing; perhaps some ceiling to floor simple panels.

Because I DIY everything I can, here are two ideas. You can create an ottoman with a reclaimed dresser drawer, a rectangle of foam and the material of your choice. Just add legs or wheels from a store like Home Depot or Lowes and paint it to compliment your decor and style. Or, you can go all out and build one from scratch with a couple of inexpensive 1 x 4 boards painted or stained. You can even add a hinged lid so that you can keep remote controls, magazines and such out of sight. The advantages of these two ideas is that drawers and anything you may make are narrow enough to be out of the way and they can be used to hold trays for TV snacks :)

Hard to suggest another spot for the tv without seeing the other side of the room. Given the photo, it seems you have room to move the rug to the right until it almost lines up with the frame on the door. You have now defined the entryway and it looks wide enough. Move chairs over as far as you can facing wall. I would take the tv off the wall and place a console table and with it being on that wall, it can also be seen from the bed and be at a better viewing level. It would sort of feel like last picture, but I believe your bed may be turned the other way. Suggest a gold toned ottoman + add two rolled pillows on chairs to pull it all together. A small table between the chairs will handy and grey linen drapery on a nice thick rod will really finish off the space. The ideas below may not be in your budget or your exact taste, but hope they help you to envison the ideas.

From what I can see, the easiest way to do this is to take the TV off the wall and place it on a console table or decorative TV stand directly under it's current location. By doing this, it won't be so high. Move the rug back to line up with the opening of the door. That will define the entry. Finally, create a "wall" by placing the chairs at the edge of the rug facing the TV so the backs are lined up with the entrance. Find a great ottoman and you're done!

Just a thought... How about moving your bed to the wall where the chairs are now and then put you tv above that gorgeous fireplace. Maybe then the chairs could be at the end of your bed.

What a difference after seeing the other end of the room Sara. The windows and slider is wonderful for light.

So, in light of that, I would switch the chairs to face the television with a small table in between. You could actually cant them, as they are now with a large (at least 3 ft) ottoman in front of them. Turn the rug so it runs parallel to doors....although it appears square in the pics. If at all possible, look for a rug without so much grey in it. Something lighter to open up the sitting area. I would also add a credenza or low bookcase under the television and a potted fern under the window. I think it will give you a more complete look. Also add some ambiance and life to the whole corner scene.

I noticed your wood flooring has been installed at an angle. Interesting the builders did it that way.

Consider a Company C ottoman. I love mine although it's difficult to see the pattern in this photo! There are many fabrics to choose from. I have a contemporary ranch design house furnished with an eclectic mix of contemporary and transitional pieces (other than the piano in the pic). I do not veer toward country and do not feel that the hooked rug fabric on the ottoman reads country although they also offer woven fabrics. Wood legs keep the ottoman from looking heavy and dense. The texture adds to the space, it's comfortable on my feet, and I know I can repurpose it if I ever tire of it. Easy to accessorize colors. I'm an upholsterer and I like the durability, stain resistance, and ease of cleaning the wool fabric. I have a Company C rug in my foyer (different pattern, similar colors). I sound like an infomercial! :)

I also like the idea of the chairs facing the tv as one would also be able to see the beautiful view through the sliders. I would move that large area rug so that it is under the bed (although not all the way to the area one places one's head) making that area a little warmer. Plus one would place one's feet on a rug when moving off the bed. You might have to rotate it so that it is wider than the bed. You could get a smaller complementary rug for the tv area and ensure that the chairs don't block the entryway. As for the ottoman, I like a round ottoman that you can put a tray on so that you can use the ottoman as a coffee table for the times you don't want to put your feet up.

how about a low profile round swivel ottoman in a fun color? (doesn't have to be red;) definitely something low to the ground, to go with your low chairs.
