Lush, flowering shrubs go a long way to improve curb appeal. The horizontal shades do not make a good impression. I'd replace with sheers.

Your bugler / security bars dominate your facade. I'd pick a soft grey or a light taupe with off white grills. I'm afraid black would be too strong but if you picked a deep, rich color it might work.

You don't mention budget, so I would pull out current steps. They do not look up to code. I fall off them every other day! Smile.

Those planters along base of home seem to be the culprit for water damage. I'd investigate how to get good drainage and fix them. Maybe a drainage hole is blocked. They would be a great place to plant bamboo to soften facade. If they can't be fixed, pull those out too. Could we see a picture of the entire house?

Those planters are causing mold/mildew and damage so remove them.

Steps don't work. Since this house has a southwestern flavor, extending the stoop across the front of the house to create a platform for potted plants (previous photo) would create some architectural interest.

Change the lights to something with more style, black, and add one by the door. Move the mailbox. The window needs to be framed like the others or take the framing off all of them. Either/or. Get some simple, classic house numbers over the front door.

Paint: you can go "wild" or "conservative." Wild would be something colorful like deep red (think Spanish hacienda colors), or gray. I'd avoid another shade of yellow/ocher or brown. Brown is hard to decorate as the only colors that really go with it are blues/turquoises and some shades of red. A darker gray/taupe would work with black safety bars, trim a slightly lighter or darker shade. Behr's "Elephant Skin" and "Amazon Stone" for trim.

Get rid of the blinds. Use bamboo shades, sheers, shutters.
