What kind of countertop on island?

Hello, could you please provide details on the material used for the counter top island? Also, is that a special edge on the corners and if so, what would it be called if it is something that I wanted to incorporate? Thank you for your time.

The island is Madre Perla quartzite----a natural material. The edge detail is the same that is used on the adj. counters. Here is a close view: https://www.houzz.com/photos/studio-city-canyon-residence-eclectic-kitchen-los-angeles-phvw-vp~2700732

The corner details follow the line of the supporting posts of the island. Thanks for your interest!
