What kind of kitchen floor?

We just installed a Silestone countertop, in Coffee Brown, and put in a tile backsplash. Now for the floor. I'd love hardwood, but my husband thinks it will be too much of a wood look, as if it's a cabin. We don't want ceramic tile as it's too cold and expensive and I don't want the hassle of cleaning grout. So, we've been leaning toward sheet vinyl with a tile look. But I really want to explore the hardwood option - -do you think hardwood would work in this kitchen? In the pic, behind the barstools is a decent size nook area (10 ft wide), pic attached. The kitchen is 22' long end to end, 7' wide. The dining room has hardwood floors and connects to the kitchen as you can see in the pic. Wall color and curtains still to be determined.
