I also have some Christmas stuff to repack. I figured I'd just do that when I put it away after this year when I can sort through it and see what I want to keep.

I have the second class for my BOM embroidery quilt to go to on Saturday. I still have 3 blocks to get done from last month so that I'm not behind (20 blocks a month is a lot when they take about 2 hours a piece).

I've also made some good progress on the kids clothes quilts. I have about 2/3 of one of them in blocks. They got a little easier to do once I started going. The footed pj's are the most difficult to deal with. I want to use those feet! They are so cute :-)

I finally received the variegated thread I ordered for the Hunter's Star quilt, so it's going on the frame first thing tomorrow morning. Hope to get it quilted and the binding sewn to the front.

No sewing but I packed up 11 quilts (lap sized) to be sold at the Save the Children bazaar this week. They are labelled as Chemo quilts and not priced but a donation to the group is suggested.

They did well at the last sale they held and folks appreciated their purpose.

It's raining today, so I get to quilt. I'm going to start quilting the September lotto block quilt after I send this post. I'd also like to finish cutting out the Whispering Lace quilt. I didn't want to cut all ten fabrics until I cut one up and sewed the two blocks I needed from that fabric. I wanted to make sure I had cut properly before I cut all the fabric. This was a confusing quilt to cut down from 36 to 20 blocks. It took a lot of calculation.

I hope to get some quilting time this weekend. I have a bricks and stepping stones to put borders on and then to get in the frame. Also have a Christmas jelly roll quilt to put borders on. I am still sewing string blocks...I think I could make them for the next 20 years and still have strings LOL. That is good though, as I can mindlessly sew on them in the evenings that I am home. They do not take much thinking. I am going to put a pork roast in the smoker in the morning so I do not have to think too much about meals tomorrow.

Donna, Whispering Lace is the lattice pattern that I'm making for my French friend. The snowflake pattern is Sara Nephew's pattern Winter Snow, which is the triangle log cabin pattern.

I'm working on a black-on-white and white-on-black with red cornerstones.....needs a couple more borders. I used all the white-on-black that I had (except for some pieces) so augmented with a little gray. I also should finish the table runner in case I use it for part of a wedding gift on Halloween.

I'm putting my raffle quilt aside now that it is ready for binding and start on the children's quilts for the fire victims. I promised her at least two and I'd better get busy. Fabric is out and cutter is sharp so once I get started, I'll be on a roll and all housework will come to a halt.

I ended up going to a quilt show in Crystal River today. I put it on my calendar then forgot about it till this morning! It was a small show, but lots of nice quilts.

I started cleaning the house when I got home and Mark helped when he got home from work, so that's done! Now I can quilt tomorrow and Monday.

Boy, these new Houzz ads at the bottom of the page are really, REALLY annoying!

No quilting for me this weekend. I'm also cleaning/organizing. I resealed my deck today and then started on the garage. I was able to swing by my LQS, since they were having a big sale. I picked up some clearance fabric for the Shoo Fly lotto quilt. I also ended up buying the Devon quilt kit, which was a major impulse purchase. No returns at my LQS, so I'm "stuck" with it now! :-)

I still haven't gotten any sewing done this weekend. Since I seem to be the family plumber, I spent all day yesterday replacing my cousin's water heater. I did catch an estate sale on the way over there and purchased about 50 yards of fabric for $25. The lady was an event coordinator and purchased fabric instead of table cloths. Maybe I will get some sewing done while watching the Nascar race today.

Worked for several hours yesterday trying to sandwich the pinwheel top I've done. Tried and failed three times and gave up...... For some reason, I CANNOT get the backing to stop rippling......it's almost as if, while I'm smoothing, the batting stretches and then grabs the backing and pulls it back into itself. Have never had this happen before....both the top and the backing seem to adhere to the batting like 'velcro'. Someone suggested spraying a little water on the bat...also I'm contemplating spray starch on the back sides of both top and backing. Another consderation was that I was working on a sheet of plexiglass (to save the dining room table from pin scratches)...wondered if the plexi was creating some sort of static. Color me very discouraged, at this poing. So...gave up quilting and headed to the yard.

No quilting for me. We flex to Arizona and threw a party for MIL's 90th birhtday yesterday - almost 100 guests! It was a buffet lunch so we were busy from 8am to 3 pm - decorating, food pick up/ prep, serving, cleanup! I was beat last night. Today Mom and I did sort some fabric for her, but I am mostly sitting and watching ball games. Back to Colorado on Wednesday. I was hoping to finish a baby quilt before we came but didn't get it done so will finish it before we head back in December.

I am finished unpacking boxes in the basement. It only took me a year to finish it but I must admit, I didn't work on it for months. We bought our new house and moved so quickly that I didn't have time to sort every thing before the move. Family and friends helped pack and I wasn't sure what was in all the boxes. I sorted through all of them this week and repacked things from cardboard boxes into totes for storage. I'm so glad to be done with it! Now there is room for the grandkids to play downstairs when they visit and I can sew without the guilt of the basement hanging over me.
