Revere Pewter is a great choice!

I agree with Jillian, RP is a great color.

Another option? Benjamin Moore Gray Owl. This gray can do no wrong. Ever. It's my favorite and best go-to gray of all time.

New White? ( 2016 Color of the Year ) Benjamin Moore "Simply White" (OC-117) this clean, crisp, multi-purpose white is great for trim, ceilings, and walls.

When I wanted to neutralize my home wall colors pre-moving, I bought Candace Olson's 60 favorite neutrals fan deck. Gray Owl is in it.... and a fabulous color, not as dark as Revere Pewter. Cloud White is my favorite trim white, but may be too much for walls. I agree with Simply White for walls.

Thanks! I thought Revere Petwer was light in color. Does it come out darker than it looks in the swatch? I have yet to buy a sample.

when you are out gathering samples pick up a BM balboa mist. i find it breathes a bit better than Revere pewter in a larger area.

I've used Revere Pewter & it did come out darker then what we'd expected.

I actually hate the 2 paintings in my kitchen and want to get rid of them. Any ideas as to what else i could get to go there? My husband also wants to get rid of the horse...but I like it!

I also need a chandelier for the dining room....if you have any thoughts.

I would not recommend anything darker or cooler than the Edgecomb Gray, as the natural light in those areas has plenty of both aspects...

I second Gray Owl, paint color.

The only reason the table is like that is because of water damage from last winter and the ceiling is being repaired. I like the chandelier, however I don't know if I want it that matchy matchy to the kitchen.

Just spitballing, but have you tried replacing the dining room mirror with the horse painting? Find somewhere else for that mirror. Then, I'd put a large, rectangular mirror in the kitchen where you want to remove the two paintings you dislike. If you keep the current mirror in the dining room, I'd add two, matching lamps on that buffet/credenza. Make sure they are tall enough, not too puny.

Would the dining room mirror work in the kitchen? Maybe along with something else? I hate to get ride of it. It's from restoration hardware and I spent a lot of $$$ Also, I definitely need buffet lamps. I was holding off until I found a chandelier so that I could go off of the style.

Mirrors can be placed over fireplaces, in foyers, over vanities.

I don't have a spot in my foyer, I don't have a vanity and I have this sunburst over my fireplace (the candles were up for a party). Could the sunburst work over the buffet? Although it may be too big.

Your current mirror doesn't look long enough to go behind the kitchen island. Just a thought, but maybe try to hang it up there and then add some smaller mirrors on each side???

I would paint one of the walls a bright color. This green goes well with white trim and wooden table. Also I think it will look great with your sunburst and candles.

Ever think about doing the walls and trim white? When I see pictures on houzz with white walls, I see the design, when walls are colored, I see walls first. Just did this in my house and people have gone crazy over the change. Makes everything brighter also.

I love the mirror! I would leave it on that same wall as the focal point, but center it so that it appears aligned (centered) with the table and the credenza (the credenza would also need to be re positioned to create a more balanced, symmetrical composition). I like the painting, but it needs to be moved elsewhere. Also love the sunburst above the fireplace!

Slooper2 - thanks! Normally the table is centered. They're repairing our ceiling because of water damage last winter, so we had to slide our table over to make room for ladders. This is why we also don't have a chandelier. I'm in the market for a new one to replace the one that was damaged.

I used Benj Moore "Inukshuk" with my (darker) cherry kitchen and really like it - very neutral. I, also, have open concept to dining room and living room.

I think you could keep the mirror on that wall as long as it's reflecting a chandelier. Here's a couple examples I think could work in your room.

I recommend 1 Very Large picture/painting for the wall behind the stools.

Also--2 examples of the paint color I suggested, Edgecomb Gray. After seeing the photo of the gorgeous fireplace and starburst, I'm rethinking the ceiling color, as the Edgecomb might look more interesting than the White Dove. :))

How about move the horse painting to the kitchen where the two prints are? Also, we painted the exterior of our house Revere Pewter, and LOVE it and got lots of people stopping by to get the name of the paint color.

One of the most helpful things I have learned (the hard way) is to find a couple colors I think I like and ask what colors the formula contains, before buying a sample. For example, you may be surprised to learn a neutral looks pink in certain light, when you thought it was beige! So you wouldn't want a formula containing much maroon.

I recently painted our living room, hallway, and 3 out of 4 walls of the dining room with Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray, with Simply White trim. I am very happy with the look. Painted the entry door black, and it looks super with the soft gray walls and white trim!

Sorry for the confusion regarding the layout of our open floor plan. This is the sitting room off of the dining area. The other living room w/ the sunburst mirror is off of the other side of our kitchen.

I wish money was no object, because I'd love to change so much and really amp up the whole interior design!

I painted two rooms with wickham gray hc171 and decorators white trim and it looks wonderful. Very Light neutral that works with any color decor.

I bought a sample of Gray Owl, thinking I'd use it in my living room, family room and entry hall. - all connected. When I put it on a sample board and moved it around the rooms at different times of the day, I was afraid it looked too green. Instead I tried it in a south facing bedroom, and I love it there! For the living room, family room and entry hall I chose Balboa Mist. Love it too. It is a warm gray and at times it appears taupe.

I also used Gray Owl in a two story foyer with a wall of south facing windows, and it was amazing (with Cloud White trim). You are right... it does lean very slightly toward green, which is why I chose it.

When I renovated my 1 bdrm condo I went with Ben Moore's "Chantilly Lace" as my white. I wanted the brightest white I could find. I found it to be not too cold and not too warm. I painted the walls, ceiling and trim with it and never got tired of it. The key is to use pops of color with white. Or with grey if you do go in that direction in stead. But I think white really makes the place bright. Don't have a lot of brown/beige furniture throughout it though - that gets really dull looking. Color pops can easily be done with pillows, pottery, glass items, throw blankets. I went with a jute rug though - I liked the warmth, and the texture, without being tied to any colors through such a big item as a rug.

I've since moved and have off-white walls and a wall dividing the front and back of the house, and I really miss the brightness I had in my condo. Hope to find another place to buy sometimes soon, where I can bring back the brightness with white walls and design that maximizes windows/sunlight.
