The manufacturer of all quartz requires a radius corner on inside corners as an anti cracking measure. You will not find a fabricator to countermand that as it voids the warrant. You would specifically need to sign a waiver absolving them if cracks, and be OK with that cracking regularly and needing regular repair. Even then, you probably wouldn't find a conscientious fabricator to do it.

3/8ths is basically zero

I can't imagine the goo that would thrive under a 1/2" negative sink reveal. Now you can have chips on the top and the bottom. Awful idea.

You'll never see the 3/8" in a month or so. I had a lady approve this last week:

I was wrong, after talking with them it was a 1/4 inch negative sink. Still larger than I would want, but I can live with that I guess.

wow, that's horrible. Joseph, please tell me that's not 3/8th inch... Does anyone have any photos of a 3/8th radius cut counter with a zero radius sink?

I see now what you did (sorry if I that sounded insulting as I didn't' realize it was a retrofit into an existing countertop) Then that makes sense as there isn't much you could do if they didn't want to pay for it. Mine is a new sink and new countertop so I was hoping for a better match. As others have said, 3/8th is close enough to zero so I'll probably be fine. With the negative reveal I think it won't be as noticeable however I wish they could have made the negative reveal 1/8 vs 1/4.

I don't have a zero radius sink. I did ask for a flush mount. What I got was a negative reveal, which I let go. You can see how my sink walls slope in, below.

I think if the sink slops in, it makes the negative reveal look worse than it actually is. I don't have a problem with a negative reveal as I think it will be cleaner in the long run as you won't get crude build up when you clean off the countertops into the sink. I just need to be sure to clean under the counter weekly.

I got my counters installed. 3/8ths is far from zero radius as Taylor suggested. I guess I just have to live with it. The 1/4th inch negative reveal isn't bad, but I don't like the 3/8ths radius. However there are worse things to worry about and as others have mentioned, I probably won't noticed in a few months:

I think your counters look great.

The counters do look good, i just wish the corners could have been a bit tighter but it's not really the fault of the fabricator, just unrealistic expectations I put in my head. The guys that did the install did a fantastic job! This is a CaesarStone Piatra Grey counter top purchased through Ikea and isntalled by Norwood Stone out of Maryland.

Seven years ago, Matt said he had a 1/4" negative reveal meaning that his countertop overhangs the sink side by 1/4". The radius in the corner of the countertop sink cutout appears to be 3/8".

The top edge profile of the sink cutout appears to be 1/4" radius which is the minimum it should be no matter the rest of the style of your edges.

Quartz requires at least a 3/8" radius, from what I understand. i was going to get a workstation sink but am now reconsidering it and thinking i'll go with something with a matching radius.
