Microwave Drawer

We are in the process of getting estimates to replace our current laminate counter tops with granite.....
I've decided I would like to replace my over-the-stove microwave with a hood vent, and install a microwave drawer on either side of the oven where the drawers and lower cabinets are....is this practical?
I was thinking of taking the lower cabinet doors to a cabinet maker and having them resized, even for aesthetics if they're no longer useable.
The drawer opening on the left measures 25.5 inches and the drawer opening on the right measures 27.25 inches. My microwave is the standard 30 inches.
Any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated!

JUST finished my kitchen and installed a range hood and a fabulous micorwve drawer down to the right of the stove... LOVE IT! Honestly, I don't use a Microwave that much - only to warm things up here and there.... but it looks dynamite instead of the ugly old microwave-over-the-stove. And I have fun pressing the button to open and close it.

How often do you use it? If the answer is daily, I wouldn't put the thing under the counter.

We put our microwave under the counter and use it daily. We have no regrets after two years.

I don't know how you'll fit a 30 inch appliance into a 27 inch opening and you'd also have to address the issue of power to the microwave.
To pursue that option, you'd have to discuss it with a carpenter to see if it can be retrofitted into that space.

I wouldn't be putting that actual microwave under the counter. I would install a microwave drawer which come in 2 sizes, the smaller would fit either side and larger would fit to the right. I measured the inside opening of the drawer, not the outside drawer "cover," for lack of a better term. I could realistically get another inch on either side of opening.

Then you'd have to contact a carpenter that can tell you if what you want is possible, not just fit but to make the door aesthetically pleasing and work out the electricity for the unit.
Those micro drawers are nice. Hope it works out. Seems like it's possible to me.
