GOTM November, Debby

November is about here!

This month the GOTM is Debby ....

I LOVE FALL.. Any type of Fall decor, candles that smell Fallish, LOL.. Oranges, greens, browns! Fall leaves strands, sparkly fall decor! Cactus- I LOVE them! Cute fall pots/ceramic. Fall wreaths- scarecrows, etc. African violet plants- I collect them! Houseplants- love cuttings (especially from hanging basket hoyas). African violet self watering pots.. Anything for the birds, I feed them- so could use bird houses, suet. Bird related items.. Cute FALL bird items. Really anything FALL! See- next time when you go shopping, think of me- especially if it's on sale! I can always use garden bags. I have so many violet supplies... I could use a specific bag for violet items. Also, macrame hangers. I have a few hooks that need new macrame plant hangers by the kitchen window! ;) I love hanging pots by the window.

Sooo excited! This is my favorite time of year! It will help take my mind off of Tobasco too! The holistic treatment for the Mast cell/round cell didn't work at all. Don't bother ever trying benadryl/tagament. For Tobasco, it just used up precious time, gave the lumps more time to grow, so the vet has to cut out more! So, the vet put him on prednisone and antibiotics within 7 days, the lumps were smaller! He's been on it now 2 weeks (Monday) and surgery's scheduled at 1:00! Just a little background on Tobasco, he's 5 a little fiesty black bulldog/frenchie! He's had a stage 3 heart murmur since birth. And had his first mast cell tumor taken out in June. 3 came back- 2 in the original 'surgery spot' and one on his leg! You cure mast cell by having it cut off, every lump is considered a new lump. They don't consider lumps metastasizing- or spreading. Each is different, and when you get it cut off, it's considered 'cured' if it doesn't return in 6 months. He did have an internal xray, everything is normal inside. So, I'm really thankful for that! :) Surgery Monday!

    Erica's box!

Yummy smelling candle, Maple Glazed Apples! Perfect Fall scent! I burned it last night and it smelled like I baked a pie! MMMM!! Pot holders, 2 Suet/holder, tulip bulbs, owl hanging decoration, owl- motion activated, Fall napkins, garden flag, stickers/cats, pumpkin spice tea, potpourri, and catnip plant, aloe plant! Seeds! Thank you Erica so much for the wonderful package! I love the bright colors of Fall, so anything Fall related is perfect for me! :)

This is so much fun! I'm so glad I didn't take a break from this 'round' of GOTM! Tobasco's surgery is tomorrow, and I'm so glad to finally get this done! I'll post tomorrow with a really brief update. I feel bad for him getting 3 lumps cut off at once, but the prednisone really did take them down a lot. Today is Toby's birthday (my 12 year old boston terrier) he's kind of quiet today. He's on antibiotics again, he has another ear infection. His nose started up the other day- just being stuffy and him kind of clearing it a few times. I think it's allergies. It goes straight to his ears, they turn red and he turns miserable. I'm going to pick him and Tobasco up one of those huge doggie cookies and let them split it for Toby's birthday. So, I'm going to make this short. I have to go to the dog bakery!

All next week the weather is going to be nice (for Chicago it's perfect temps, 60's- almost 70!) So if your sending me plants- only indoor now please/houseplants. My gardens are basically done- and the final layer of mulch was put down for Fall. So, I can't dig right now.. Plus, with all this going on, I'll never be able to plant 'live' outdoor stuff with in the next month. I love cactus, african violets, hint hint.. LOL! Hoya, anything unique! Or garden bags.. I have violet supplies to organize, craft stuff- etc. So, if I get more than one, it's fine. I do a lot of crafting- during the winter. Or- macrame hangers for plants. I wanted to try to make some, yeah- that's not going to happen with in the next few weeks. So, it would be easier to ask.. I try to purify the air for the winter months by growing plants inside. Gotta run- and get that birthday cookie for Toby to share with Tobasco! Ralphie and Chuckie (my cats) were smelling the catnip Erica sent! They didn't bother it- just smelled it! LOL!

Long day! Was at the vets from 1:00 for the pre-op paperwork, Tobasco's surgery! And just walked in the door with him! at 8:30. The vet closed at 8:00 they wanted to observe him for several hours. He's crabby with the big plastic collar. He wants it off! It's a little different this time. He just has stitches in 3 places where the lumps were. No drainage tube, like last time! He was so bandaged last time it was like a little bathing suit! This time, just the way too big collar! I'm looking forward to the boxes! Will post when they arrive! :)

Last time... Totally bandaged! This time- nothing.

Tobasco's doing ok.. He's on pain meds from last night and snoring now! He's on prednisone so the vet didn't want to do pain meds. I insisted.. And picked up tramadol last night, it helped him relax and not cry. The night before- he cried all night.. But, he was also on high doses of stuff from the surgery, so the vet said 'give nothing' that day. I'll do pain meds again tonight, and maybe stop if he seems like he doesn't need them. He's just so cut up.. it's hard to decide. I guess with his heart murmur pain meds effect that too, so I have to be careful also and not push. He was outdoors yesterday laying in the grass, enjoying 70's weather! I had all the windows open! It's so mild out still! I'll post when boxes arrive, I'm looking so forward to them! :)

I clean like this all the time anyway- but look for the excuse to deep clean everything because the house will be filled with Family! :) So- wanted to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
