Here's a close up of the sample color on the left, the granite in the middle and the door style on the right. The white hopefully comes off as creamy (?)

Are the samples shown on top of your floor tile?

Your floor tile looks a good bit warmer in tone than your granite imo, are you set on that granite?

I was looking at Bianca antico originally, but I didn't want the whole kitchen to be beige on beige on beige. I thought the granite might add some contrast, but still work with off white. Doesn't work?

The sample granite shows more beige in it than the slab. If that is your actual slab, it reads very black and white and IMO it does not work with your floor.

Hey Mountie, the sample was cut off the actual slab, so I'm hoping the granite just comes across colder in the picture.

dawna - hate to say it but I agree with mountie - I don't love them together.

Hi Dawna, I think you have a great start. :) Your floor is amazing.... luv it! I'm concerned though that the counter seems too white? I definitely understand your view about not wanting tanland...or beige on beige, but I would hate to see such an amazing start possibly go wrong after you spend a lot of $. Though internet pics are terrible for judging color. I know someone that is absolutely amazing, fantastic with color. She can definitely help. Give me a sec Dawna! ;)

Oh... no problem at all Dawna, geez...I'm drooling over your floor... so beautiful. :) It may take a bit, but I know Natalie will help you... she is a very sweet person and puts a lot of thought into helping. I cannot wait to see your kitchen come together. I luv kitchens ...can't get enough. :)

Maybe this will allow you to more easily see that the granite selected is not the best selection for your existing floor and walls. This is your kitchen and your slab picture superimposed on the cabinet picture. Too cool and too grey

Looking closely at your selections is never the right way to view the room. Always from a distance so you can see the overall appearance, and not the individual colors.

Wow Beverly, that is definitely not the look I am going for. Even when the cabinets are all off white, the granite looks pretty bright.

Dawna, do you want to really laugh? I'm planning to move... so..... First, my flooring is cheapo sticky tiles. Though... if you buy good ones... they are actually great and easy to clean. I still like your flooring a thousand times more. Second... my counters... after much debate, Ikea laminate in white. A big piece was only about $60? Great counter though...no staining... no scratching. Lol :) When I move...I will definitely be spending more $ on materials. But for now, I'm extremely happy with the results, especially for the money. :)

Haha, wow, that's actually even more impressive that you got the kitchen for that cheap. At least it's good practice for your next house!

Ha ha Yeah, better to make inexpensive mistakes now. Just goes to show...you don't necessarily have to spend a ton to have something beautiful. Though, I have to give credit to all the great Houzzers that stuck with me. Because every time I walk in the kitchen, I smile. I want the same for you! ;)

Beverly , I wonder if it would make a difference if the slab was more spread out? I have a picture of just the top part of the slab. It might give a better idea of the ratio

Well, my top priority ....a tad more space, larger island, second sink, second dishwasher or dishwasher drawer. And I learned from trial and error.... that I most definitely want a more neutral, light counter. For me, I find it more desirable to cook on a lighter counter... just makes me happy. Probably even lighter cabinets too. There are so many beautiful options and combinations that it's hard to say... but I will definitely include all my great Houzz buddies in on the action! :)

Dawna177, I too am worried about that granite choice with the floors. Would it be too late to choose another granite if need be?

I think you are all right. I will have to call my fabricator and see if it's too late to change granite. I know they haven't cut it yet, but they were going to bring it in from the supplier.

Dawna177, I might try to stop it if you can. It's easy for them to take it back to the supplier and pick up a different slab. Even if they charge you a small charge for the inconvenience, it might be well worth it. If it does look as black and white as some of us fear, it could be a real issue with your floor (which is beautiful, by the way). Please keep us posted and, if you search for a different slab, post pics of your favorite choices. We'll be happy to try to help you find the perfect granite so you'll love your new kitchen.

I agree with the previous comments, the granite and floor do not pair well. If you are able to change granite, check Alpinus Black Crystal. Copenhagen could possibly work too. I recommend taking a couple of your floor tiles with you when reselecting the granite. Hope this is helpful. Keep us posted. Good Luck!

You're welcome Dawna. It's cloudy and dark here today, otherwise I would give you a few paint colors you could use for color reference for granite. If it clears up, I'll post some colors for you. :))

Black/white granite doesn't go with creamy/beige floor--two neutral families. So changing granite good. There are thousands of granites that would go with that floor--just not a black/white. Creamy white cabinets can be any tone, not a big deal. The granite is they key--you can go in the brown, gold, blue, green, reddish--whatever color you prefer--families.

Take samples of your floor tile to the granite yard and don't look at the granite close up. Stand far away.

I don't think so. Same issue as the other one, at least in my opinion.

This second choice is better than the first, but it's still not the right one. It is quite pink to the floor. You need something warmer---just look to your tile for reference. The cabinet color is yet to be determined and the one pictured has a cool yellow undertone---when you need more of a warm undertone. Refer only to the tile for the granite ... Hope this is helpful.

I agree with Natalie and Ann, this one still seems off imo...

Have you considered a darker granite? I love that look.
