I'm having such fun making these little 6" blocks. Five down, 80 to go. It's addicting. I think it takes me longer to plan each one than to actually make it. LOL Thirty-three fabrics to choose from. I have to stop and work on my other quilts. I have to stop and work on my other quilts. I have to stop...

Oh, oh, I just spotted something. If you're using striped fabric, you have to make sure the stripes are all going the same direction. My first inclination is to take them apart, but I don't think I will. I will just make the rest of them correctly. Too bad I didn't notice that after the first striped one. It's amazing what you see in photos, especially when you post them, that you didn't see in person. This is really going to bug me. I hate being such a perfectionist sometimes.

Is this a pattern or is there a name?

The block is the Ohio Star. The directions are on Quilters' Cache. Here is the link for a 12 inch block. Mine are six inches, so you cut 3.5" blocks instead of 5.25" and 2.5" instead of 4.5". Your hourglass units are trimmed down to 2.5".

Ohio Star

The pattern I'm making with them is Antique Star from Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison's book Tributes and Treasures.
