Before & After pics. But need advice as well!

Forgot to take pics before the place was gutted but we used to have wood panelling and more walls and beams obstructing the area. But please check out the trim in the After pics. Do you guys think the trim is too thick/wide? I think it's too wide. Wifey thinks it's ok.

    After Pics

What do you guys think of the size of the trim around that big opening? Too big?

windows came out good but the mullion came out too thick IMO. Poor planning.

Custom pocket doors leading into the kitchen were also installed (total width of pocket door opening is 84 inches). Those are glass panels covered up for now. Trim still needs to go up but worried that since I have to match the trim size with the other big opening (5.5 inch trim), the trim might just be too big/wide.

Another angle. Again, I think the trim is too thick/wide. Would love to hear others opinions!

    so to recap:

New trim around big openings is about 5.5 inches.

Trim around windows and doors are 3.5 inches.

Base moulding trim is currently 7.5 inches but we are DEFINITELY reducing that. It's too bulky for the room IMO.

I'm thinking the trim around the big opening and the pocket door opening should be no more than 4.5-5 inches. What do you guys think? Would appreciate prompt replies as I have to decide TODAY!!! THanks in advance all!!

Ok, so didn't get any feedback from the houzz crew so had to make an executive decision as I saw my contractor this morning and was expecting direction. I told him to remove the trim around the opening and remove base moulding trim (which wifey hated). So we're going with:

    5.5inches for the base moulding.

4.5inches for the trim around the pocket door opening and large opening.

Leaving the trim around the windows and doors at 3.5 inches. Will post pics upon completion.

Thanks Pacific Coast Custom! Jut got back and see that the contractor did exactly as asked and shaved down everything around the large opening by an inch. Makes a big difference (to me) and things look much more.....balanced now IMO.
