I think we're going with a color that's just a bit darker than the tile. We'll ask our installer to do a 1/8 inch joint so we'll get some contrast but not a lot. Since our granite has a lot of pattern to it, we didn't want to have a backsplash that would be too busy so hopefully we're making the right choice. Thanks for your advice Cynthia.

Sounds like a good plan. If you went too dark in the grout it would be a mistake, but just a wee bit darker is nice and subtle. Best of luck to you.

Mapei Warm Grey is a nice color. Silver Shadow in Laticrete products looks good with white subway too. I always recommend something other than white because it is easier to maintain. Either way you need to seal the grout on new installations at least 2 times. Then seal annually after that and you will find that your tile installation will maintain that new look for decades to come.
