Hello, the legs are 8" from the floor to the bottom of the vanity and no, they are not removable.

On another site someone had trimmed 2 inches off the legs to get the height they wanted and said it worked great!

Done carefully, that would be entirely doable. However, bear in mind that any modification to a vanity will probably void the manufacturer's warranty. With that said, I don't remember seeing a warranty claim on a bathroom vanity and we've sold thousands of them so the risk is probably low. Occasionally we do see a manufacturing defect that isn't caught before shipping but those are almost always obvious right away.
