Did you end up purchasing the floors? I'd love an update!

Yes i did end up buying them. Looks good .. But wouldnt buy hardwood again, lots of scratches and only had them for a month ( I have a dog)

Oh no! Any way to seal them to prevent further scratching? Or maybe area rugs over heavy traffic areas...although I guess a dog wouldn't only stay on the carpet now would it?

KIM --I am close to purchasing the EXACT same wood in that color!! PLEASE post a pic this has been a very strenuous and long decision. We have a 50 pound dog and a 4 yr old. i would LOVE to see pictures!!! I can give you my email if you want!

is that a scratch you're showing? Are you happy overall with the floors? Do you find that this medium shade is showing more scratches than a lighter would show? we were told that but we really dont like light wood. if you can send me any more that are a broader span of the floor it would be SO appreciated. PS. I wont look at your decorating :)

Oops,, I thought I had sent 5 pictures but they didn't show .. Overall I'm still happy with the floors, not sure if a lighter color would make a huge difference .. On the bright side, you can always sand and stain them again when the scratches are too bad (we will do it once there is no dog in the house) .. I love the colors of the floors

one more question. did you get varation or variation with knots? Or nuance?

Dont worry about it!! Ask as many question as you like lol .. We didn't need to throw any out because of knots or color variation. Make sure you leave your hardwood in your house a week before putting it in .. Humidity will make it shrink or expand if not set properly .. They said the wider your floors are the more you have to be careful with humidity! Our floors are 2" 3/4

they really are beautiful. what i was asking before was what "style" did you get? They offer one called variation which has a VERY little distressing look to it and one with variation with knots which gives that same look with also a look of some knottiness to it. there is also one called "Nuance" which im not sure exactly what that is. but was wondering which one you had with this floor.

Our floors where called Santa Fe by Preverco .. They dont have a lot of knots in them. Never heard anything about nuance or variation

I absolutely love maple wood floors. I have installed them in my last two homes. I would recommend that If you have dogs or young children that you chose a distressed finish as it will weather/mask the abuse far better. Kim, I'm sorry that store didn't spend a little time to understand your lifestyle before making your decision. If you chose your manufacturer, species and finish wisely you really can have a long lasting resilient floor. I just purchased Preverco Maple Sahara nuance engineered hardwood. Satin finish. It has not been installed as of yet. If you have pets or small children the brushed finish was suggested. We have neither so we did not get the brushed finished. They told us the brushed finish is forgiving. I hoping I’m not sorry!
